Exploring

Exploring

Alan had to fly to NC for a Business Trip. So we dropped him off at the San Francisco Airport & did a little exploring on the Coast. We checked out Pigeon Point Lighthouse, & explored some beaches for seashells. This is why we moved to California. 80 Degrees in November!!! Heaven!! All down the Coast was covered with Surfers taking advantage of the gorgeous weather. :)

Recharge Part II

Recharge
Part II

After the tide pools, we drove down to another beach, a few miles away. The beaches of Half Moon Bay, are stunning with there large cliffs. Huge pieces of driftwood as far as you could see. Some so big that they were made into forts. (I remember learning about driftwood when I was a kid at school. And wanting to see some at a beach someday) It was starting to cool down, high 50's, so the fog was rolling in.

My Cute In-laws
Today was just what I needed, without knowing I needed it. I am so grateful that we get live somewhere so gorgeous. Grateful for In-laws who are so kind, so willing to serve others, and help me when they can. The only way today could have been better, was if Alan was here.

I took this Photo to always remember this special trip to the beach with Grandpa & Grandma Thorpe.
(I plan on blowing it up for Christmas & framing it)

Part I

It was a Typical Crazy Sunday Morning, the kids & I were running late to church. My In-laws came in, and asked us if we were opposed to missing church. (Lately I have been feeling exhausted, and just drained out from all the change in the past few weeks. I think my In-laws had picked up on my anxiety & how overwhelmed I had been feeling.) We agreed, My Father & Mother In Law took my keys and put car seats into his SUV.  They instructed us to grab water, snacks, and to change into Jeans and grab Jackets with good shoes. Let me just add in, it was well over a 100 degrees. Within 15 minutes we all piled into the car and we were off. We drove for 2 hours...

At this point we were making our way up a hill. My father in Law, opens the windows, & the most amazing smell enters the car. Eucalyptus, Ocean Air, & Pine trees all mixed together.
(Seriously if I could bottle this I would.)

My Father In Law began to tell me, that sometimes when he needs a break, he gets in his car and will just drive down to the ocean. I cannot express how much I needed this. Something about the Ocean soothes my soul & recharges me.
